Hey Tim thanks.. what if we have the password so we know when she is on and she has a private profile. I don't know that much about my space or blogging for that matter. Even if she has a private profile, she can still get to innappropriate sites, is that correct?
Momma, please do not allow your girls. Do you not watch MSNBC where they catch perverts of all legal ages at decoy houses that try to solicit to juvenile boys and girls? Trust me when I say, if they want to locate your children, they can find a way. I have seen too many reports involving juveniles and computers where I work that it scares me just to let Dale's 8 year old play on certain sites.
I know I'm commenting kind of late, but I just discovered your blog. While I love my online community on MySpace, I don't think it's very safe for teens. I know of a sixteen year old girl in my own neighborhood whose parents recently discovered that she was communicating with a 36 yr. old man GROSS! (He's currently under investigation.) Don't get me wrong, there's a lot of fun, positive things that can come from it. MySpace is a very popular site- even MSC Youth Ministry is on MySpace- so if you're gonna allow a teen online, keep a VERY close eye on what's going on, know their password, check it frequently, etc. There's a lot of weirdos out there.
